Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim delivered a Player-of-the-Match performance as he scored a brace to inspire Slovan Bratislava to a 3-0 away victory over rivals Spartak Trnava in the Slovak Niké Liga.
Ibrahim opened the scoring in the 19th minute, finishing off Suleiman Camara's assist to put Slovan 1-0 up, before Tigran Barseghyan doubled the lead in the 34th minute.
The Ghanaian sealed the emphatic win in the 80th minute when he converted Alen Mustafic's pass to complete his brace.
It was a complete midfield display. Ibrahim had 4 total shots with 2 on target, both resulting in goals, and completed an impressive 21 of his 22 accurate passes. He was named Player of the Match with a Sofascore rating of 8.4.
The brace takes Ibrahim's league tally for the season to four goals, underlining his growing influence for Slovan this campaign.
His club form comes after a frustrating international break with Ghana. The midfielder earned a Black Stars call-up but remained on the bench as Ghana lost 2-0 to Ivory Coast and 4-2 to The Gambia in 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
With the appointment of Kim Lars Björkegren as interim head coach, assisted by Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram, as the new Black Stars interim technical team, Ibrahim will now hope his form in Slovakia impresses Björkegren enough for another call-up and a long-awaited debut when Ghana face Somalia in the AFCON qualifiers in November.
