Hearts of Oak deny reports of player revolt in camp

Accra Hearts of Oak have denied reports of a player revolt in camp over welfare and feeding arrangements.

In a press statement issued on 8 October 2026, the club said there is "no crisis" in the camp of the Phobians, contrary to reports circulating in the media.

"The management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC wishes to inform and assure the general public, our teeming supporters and stakeholders that there is no crisis in the Hearts of Oak camp regarding the welfare of our players," the statement said.

The Ghana Premier League giants insisted they offer one of the best employment and welfare packages within the parameters of the country's economy.

The club clarified its feeding arrangements for matchdays, explaining that players selected for home matches - while they remain in the club's accommodation - are provided with dinner the night before the game and breakfast, lunch and dinner on matchdays.

For away fixtures, the statement said players and officials are given three square meals on the day before and on matchdays.

"We will therefore appeal to all Phobians and stakeholders to disregard these reports of us not feeding our players the day before and on matchdays," the club added.

Hearts reiterated that player welfare remains a key priority and that they will continue to explore ways to promote healthy conditions for players, technical team and staff.

"As part of our efforts to achieve pre-eminence not just locally, but continentally, we will continue to strive for the best at all times," the statement concluded.

The statement was signed by Hearts Management.
