Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim has extended his contract with SK Slovan Bratislava until the end of the 2029/30 season.
The 25-year-old joined the Slovak champions from AS Trencin in early 2025 and has become a key player for the club.
Ibrahim has made 70 appearances and scored seven goals for Slovan, winning two league titles. He has impressed at the Tehelne pole stadium with his powerful finishing.
Capable of playing in central midfield and as a forward, he is noted for his physical presence and ability to win duels. His form earned him a maiden call-up to the Ghana national team.
Slovan Bratislava CEO Ivan Kmotrik Jr. said it was important to secure the midfielder long-term amid interest from abroad.
"If you recall, we tried to sign Rahim across several transfer windows in the past, and time has shown that our efforts were justified," Kmotrik Jr. said.
"At an excellent footballing age and with his physical attributes, he is highly attractive to foreign clubs, and we have received several offers for him recently. Coupled with his recent nomination to the Ghana national team, it was crucial for us to secure him long-term. I am very glad we agreed on this extension; his potential is enormous."
Ibrahim, who started his career with Accra Lions before making his Slovak league debut for Trencin in 2021, expressed his delight after signing.
"I am very happy and grateful for the confidence the club has shown in me," Ibrahim said.
"I am ready to give everything and repay what Slovan has invested in me. I already consider Bratislava my home. I have spent wonderful moments in a Slovan jersey, and I believe more are still ahead of us. I am always thrilled to run onto the pitch and hear the cheers of our great fans."
He has made 127 appearances and scored 14 goals in Slovakia's Nike Liga.
