FIFA Rankings: Ghana slips after Gambia and Ivory Coast setbacks

Ghana have dropped five places to 70th in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola Men's World Rankings following poor results against Gambia and Ivory Coast.

The Black Stars now have 1361 points and sit between Jamaica, who climbed two places to 69th with 1362 points, and North Macedonia in 71st with 1351 points.

The decline comes after Ghana failed to win in the October international window, with disappointing performances against Gambia and Ivory Coast costing them valuable ranking points.

The results see Ghana fall further down the continental pecking order, as they continue to sit outside Africa's top 10.

Morocco remain Africa's top-ranked side but have slipped to 7th in the world in the latest rankings. Portugal and Brazil now occupy 5th and 6th respectively, ahead of the Atlas Lions.

At the top of the global standings, World Cup winners Spain continue to lead, followed by Argentina, France and England.

The next rankings release will be key for Ghana's seeding for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
