Lamine Yamal Sets Champions League Record as Barcelona Thrash Galatasaray at Rams Park Stadyumu

Barcelona delivered a devastating second-half display to come from behind and beat Galatasaray 4-1 at RAMS Park in Round 2 of the UEFA Champions League on Monday night, inspired by a record-breaking performance from Lamine Yamal.

Yamal was officially named Player of the Match after providing two stunning assists in three minutes to turn the game - setting up Fermín López in the 50th minute and Anthony Gordon in the 53rd minute.

But the night became historic. With those two assists, Yamal set the record as the youngest player ever to reach 25 goal contributions in Champions League history.

At just 19 years and 92 days old, he now has 12 goals and 14 assists in the competition - the only major trophy to still elude him. He beats the previous youngest record holder, Kylian Mbappé, by more than a year.

Despite arriving as clear favourites, Hansi Flick's side were stunned early. Galatasaray took the lead in the 28th minute when Aleksey Batrakov scored his first goal for the club following an assist from Rafael Leão.

The Turkish champions thought they had doubled their lead through Barış Alper Yılmaz, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR review.

Barcelona made them pay just before the break. In the 43rd minute, João Cancelo equalized from Dani Olmo's assist to make it 1-1 at half-time.

The second half was all Barcelona. Yamal's double-assist blitz gave Barcelona a 3-1 lead, before Galatasaray tried a triple substitution in the 58th minute - Leroy Sané, Gabriel Sara and Lesley Ugochukwu all coming on.

Barcelona answered with Gabriel Jesus and Karim Adeyemi, and Adeyemi sealed the rout in the 65th minute, scoring after being set up by Jesus to make it 4-1.
