Vision FC head coach Predrag Jaredic says individual mistakes proved costly as his side lost 3-1 to AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium.
The defeat came on the day Ghana Premier League football returned to Obuasi for the first time in over four years, with AshantiGold marking the occasion with victory courtesy of a hat-trick from 23-year-old midfielder David Gyamfi Junior.
"We had some individual mistakes, but mainly we created some good chances," Jaredic said.
"AshantiGold is a good team and led by a good coach with experience. Our mistakes led to the goals today.
"It is the real result and I want to congratulate AshantiGold because they deserve to win."
AshantiGold are led by Karim Zito, who previously guided Dreams FC to MTN FA Cup success and to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Vision FC host Medeama in their next league fixture on 19 September.
