Nii Adjei Kraku II Park, Tema—Vision FC made a perfect start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season with a dominant 3-0 victory over Young Apostles in the opening fixture at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Park in Tema.
The headlines belonged to two 16-year-olds as Vision FC announced themselves in style in front of their home fans.
It took just four minutes for the hosts to break the deadlock. Midfield sensation Naziru Alhassan Nyenye, 16, showed composure beyond his years to fire Vision ahead early.
Vision continued to dominate proceedings and doubled their lead five minutes before halftime. Setsofia Aqetey, also 16, stepped up to take a free kick in the 40th minute and saw his effort take a deflection on its way past the Young Apostles goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Aqetey was not done. In the 68th minute, the young forward completed his brace with a clinical finish to put the game beyond doubt and seal all three points for Vision.
Godwin Ametefe Keeps Clean Sheet
Young Apostles tried to mount a response a minute later, but goalkeeper Godwin produced a superb save in the 69th minute to deny Ramzy and preserve Vision's clean sheet.
With the result secured, Vision coach withdrew his two teenage match-winners in the 76th minute to a standing ovation, as Setsofia Aqetey and Naziru Alhassan Nyenye made way for Ruben Quaye and Kwadwo Boamah.
It was a statement victory for Vision FC, who dominated from start to finish and showed the future of Ghanaian football is bright with two 16-year-olds leading the attack in the season's curtain-raiser.
Vision will look to build on this momentum as the season progresses, while Young Apostles have plenty to work on after a difficult afternoon in Tema.
