BREAKING: Hearts of Oak Appoints Interim Management Committee Led by Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe After MD Resignation

ACCRA, Ghana — Accra Hearts of Oak has appointed a five-member Interim Management Committee to oversee operations following the resignation of Managing Director Julius Ben Emunah, the club announced in a press release dated Sept. 11, 2026.

The leadership change comes just days after Hearts made an emphatic start to the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season, thrashing Berekum Chelsea 4-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The Interim Management Committee [IMC] will be chaired by Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a former club CEO and former Ghana Football Association chairman. It will steer affairs pending the appointment of a new substantive management team.

The full IMC composition is as follows:

  • Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe - Chairman
  • Samuel Wilfred Yaw Inkoom - Finance
  • Akwasi Agyemang - Operations
  • Vincent Sowah Odotei - Administration
  • Alhaji Yusif Abdullai [National Chapters Committee Chairman] - Mobilization

Emunah, appointed Feb. 2, 2026 succeeding Dr. Delali Anku-Adiamah, stepped down after a short tenure, stating on Facebook that he remains a committed supporter.

The Board, led by Executive Chairman Togbe Afede XIV, said the move ensures stability as the club pursues domestic and continental ambitions, and asked fans to support the IMC.

Hearts, 21-time league champions, will look to build on their opening win when they travel to face Bibiani GoldStars in Matchday 2 on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Duns Park in Bibiani.
