FC AshantiGold forward David Gyamfi Junior has been named Ghana Premier League Player of the Week for Matchday Two.
The 18-year-old announced himself in style with a perfect hat-trick, the first of the 2026-27 season, to inspire AshantiGold to a 3-1 victory over Vision FC at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
Gyamfi Junior opened the scoring in the seventh minute before restoring AshantiGold's lead after Sheriff Mohammed had equalised for Vision with a free-kick. He completed his treble just before half-time to seal the win.
The performance earned him the NASCO Man of the Match award and moved him to the top of the scoring chart with three goals after two matchdays.
AshantiGold's victory was their first in the Premier League and takes them to four points from their opening two fixtures.
