Speaking to renowned journalist Owuraku Ampofo on TV3's Sports Station, Asante Twum described Semenyo as Ghana's most outstanding performer in Europe last season.
"If you look at the performance of our players, Semenyo was the most outstanding player in Europe," Asante Twum said. "He did very well, he's one of our best players in Europe and not just one of the best in the Black Stars."
"I will not be surprised if he gets a nomination," he added.
Semenyo enjoyed the best campaign of his career, registering 21 goal contributions across spells with Bournemouth and Manchester City. His consistency was rewarded with a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season, while his impact was felt in the biggest moments as he won two major honours with City, lifting the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, where he scored a dramatic last minute winner two minutes from time in the final.
It could have been three trophies, but City fell short in the Community Shield, losing to Arsenal before the start of this season.
What sets Semenyo apart is not just his output, but his adaptability. In the last three seasons, he has thrived under three different managers, Gary O'Neil and Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth and Pep Guardiola at Man City.
That transition from Bournemouth's direct, high intensity system under Iraola to Guardiola's possession dominant demands at City has been seamless, cementing his status as one of Ghana's most important players heading into the new season.
Semenyo, who joined City in January, is now being talked about not just as a key figure for the Black Stars, but as a Ghanaian player genuinely in the conversation for football's most prestigious individual shortlist.
